According to humor guru William Fry, M.D., professor emeritus of psychiatry at Stanford
University, by the time the average child reaches kindergarten, he or she laughs about
300 times a day. However, Rod Martin, Ph.D., at the University of Western Ontario, found
that most adults only laugh a measly 17 times a day.
Study after study shows that he who laughs last...has the toughest day at work. My work
isn't funny, you say? The first step is to step back and consider how your office dynamics
resemble something outside work, no matter how seemingly different: a zoo, psychologist's
office, your home, a hockey game - you choose. With just a little thought, you may have
just put your first Levity Lens to work.
